Sandbach Leisure Centre has closed after part of the roof blew off in Storm Eunice.

A notice on the centre's Facebook page reads: "Due to the adverse weather conditions and some damage to our centre we are cancelling all activities at the site until further notice.

"This includes all gym, swim and classes. We will inform all customers once our building reopens.

"Thank you to all our customers for your co-operation during this time."

Heavy wind caused the damage mid afternoon to the centre which is attached to Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College.

No one is understood to have been hurt. Nub News has approached Cheshire East for a further comment.

All bookings have been notified of the closure.
