Sandbach is set to be alive with the sound of music when a local music festival makes a comeback to help raise cash for the Ukraine.

In 2019, Sandbach Roar Fringe Musical Festival was set up to provide a musical platform for local talent.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the event hasn't been held for two years but this year it's back.

This year the Roar music Fringe has grown and runs from Friday (April 22nd) until Sunday (April 24th).

Venues hosting bands are the Market Tavern, The Lion and the Military Arms.

This year's theme for charity is children in the Ukraine, to provide outside classroom packs, food parcels and support.

Organiser, David Jack, said " This is a fantastic opportunity to yet again do some amazing find raising whilst at the same time provide platforms for many of the town's talented musicians.

"I am overwhelmed with the amount of support we have already received from bands and artists as well as the generosity of the venues who have allowed us to take over for the weekend's programme of entertainment."

Gig lists will be uploaded on ROAR fringe music festival's social media pages, including Facebook and posters will be displayed around the town.

Anyone who is interested in performing during the weekend can contact David Jack on [email protected]

They can also make donations towards help the children Ukraine appeal through PayPal at the same email address.

"Every single penny raised will going towards the children affected by the war in Ukraine and this is our way to help in such desperate times," said David Jack.

"I hope we have a great turn out and at the same time show we have wonderful talent that really does come together in a time of real need."
