Driver carried to safety after car becomes 'trapped' in floodwater

Firefighters from Crewe wearing wading suits rescued a person trapped in a car in Clay Lane at 7.23 am on Saturday (21st October).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Three firefighters wearing wading suits entered flood water to rescue a person trapped inside their car.

"The crew carried the person to safety and checked a number of other vehicles to make sure there were no other casualties."
