A piglet managed to wander three miles across Crewe all the way to town's retail park - after escaping from a local farm.

The female Kunekune pet pig managed to escape from Owl Farm, Rope Lane, on Saturday (December 30),

After hours of wandering Crewe's streets, the brown piglet eventually ended up at the Grand Junction Retail Park, Earle Street.

A Crewe resident spotted the piglet at the Grand Junction Retail park and posted the incident on social media (Ryan Parker).

This journey would take a pedestrian approximately one hour on foot - with a distance of three miles.

A Crewe resident spotted the piglet at the Grand Junction Retail park and posted the incident on social media, saying: "There's a pig loss on the retail park."

This caused quite a stir on social media with lots of local residents in disbelief.

Crewe resident, Kelly Bramley, said: "How has no one even seen this little piggy on its travels before it got to the retail park?

"Wonder what route it took. So cute and glad it's back home unscathed."

A female Kunekune pet pig managed to escape from Owl Farm, Rope Lane, on Saturday (December 30) (Paige Jones).

Worker at Owl Farm, Mark Smetham, cleared up the situation on social media.

Mr Smethan confirmed the piglet was found safe and well and is back at the farm.

He said: "We are Owl Farm and we breed pet Kunekune pigs.

"It was one of our piglets, she decided to wander off.

"She is safe and sound now. Thank you all."

The Kunekune pet pig was found safe and well and is back at Owl Farm, Rope Lane (Owl Farm).

Kunekunes originate from New Zealand. They are the smallest breed of pigs.
