Police appeal for information after two taken to hospital following serious collision

Two people have been taken to hospital following a serious collision involving a Royal Mail truck and a van near Sandbach.

On Thursday 18 July, emergency services responded to an incident on University Way in Crewe.

At 5:55pm, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene.

Emergency services discovered a Royal Mail truck and a Truline delivery van had collided with one another.

Two casualties were reported in the incident, with the truck driver suffering serious injuries and the van driver sustaining minor injuries.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "The driver of the truck suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.

"She was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital, where she remains at this time.

"Her injures are not believed to be life-threatening.

"The driver of the panel van sustained minor injuries and was taken to Leighton hospital as a precaution.

Two casualties were reported in the incident, with the truck driver suffering serious injuries and the van driver sustaining minor injuries (Cheshire Police).

"Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing.

"Any information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101, or via the website, quoting: IML 1873743."
