Caravans are being moved off a site in Crewe after they made an unauthorised encampment.

Police were on site today (Monday) on site to ensure the caravans obeyed a Section 61 notice.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "At 6pm on Friday 27 July police were made aware of an unauthorised encampment off David Whitby Way in Crewe.

"Officers attended and found that there were more than 20 caravans at the site.

"Police engaged with all those present and a section 61 notice was subsequently issued ordering them to leave the site today. Officers are currently in attendance at the site to enforce the order."
