Police called after drunk man bangs on doors past midnight in Cheshire village

Cheshire Police were called to reports of "suspicious activity" on a quiet residential estate in Holmes Chapel, after a drunk man banged on multiple doors past midnight.

On Wednesday 18 December, officers received reports of an incident on Sadlers Close, off Westmorland Terrace.

It was reported a drunk man, claiming to be from Stoke-on-Trent, was banging on the doors of several bungalows and houses.

A Sadlers Close resident told Nub News they heard a "loud bang" around midnight, with the man lying in their doorway asking for a taxi to Stoke-on-Trent.

Cheshire Police officers were unsuccessful in locating the drunk man in Holmes Chapel (Cheshire Police).

Police soon arrived at the scene, but were unsuccessful in locating the man.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 12.10am on Wednesday 18 December, police were called to reports of suspicious activity on Sadlers Close, Holmes Chapel.

"The caller reported a drunk man banging on doors. 

"Officers attended and there was no trace of the man on arrival."
