Police say enquiries in relation to the cause of collision which involved a car crashing into the front of a house in Sandbach are "ongoing"

Two people are in hospital with 'serious injuries' after a car went through a hedge and crashed into the front of a house in Sandbach on Tuesday (March 11th).

Temporary barriers at the end of Middlewich Road Co-op's car park in Sandbach have been put in place after a car crashed through them into a house.

A police spokesperson said today: "Enquiries in relation to the cause of the collision are ongoing"

Now temporary barriers have been put in place at the end of the car park - a pathway which goes from Middlewich Road to the side of the Co-op in between houses at the back.

Sandbach Nub News told here how bystanders watched in horror as the vehicle moved across the car park outside Middlewich Road Co-op at lunchtime before colliding with the front of a house.

The front windows of the house on the right-hand side of the Co-op were damaged and parts of the car were visible inside the hedge at the side of the house.

Marie Edgar, manager of Middlewich Road Co-op, said she was in the office around lunchtime when she heard a loud bang.

"We ran outside and could see a car had gone through the hedge. Two people were in the car and we helped them. It's just lucky no one was injured," she said.
