Two fire engines went to a car on fire in the car park at Miola in Elworth last night (Tuesday).

The Mini was well alight when two engines from Crewe and Sandbach went to the blaze in Lodge Road, Sandbach at 9.45 pm.

Margaret Preston from Sandbach Mowers and Repairs, who owns the car park with husband Paul, said she received a call to say there was a car on fire in the car park at 9.40 pm last night.

"You don't expect to receive a call saying there's a car on fire in your car park. Thankfully no one was hurt," she told Nub News.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews were called to a vehicle that was well alight, following a one vehicle road traffic collision.

"There was no one trapped and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Police also attended."
