Reform UK claims victory in Sandbach by-election securing second council seat

Reform UK now has its second councillor on Sandbach Town Council.
Will Taylor beat the three other candidates to become the new councillor for Sandbach Heath and East Ward.
It was a fairly close call with Independent candidate, Sarah Bradley, coming a close second with 459 votes behind winner, Will Taylor, with 497.

At about 11pm an hour after the polling stations were closed, the results were announced at the Municipal Building (Council Chamber) in Crewe where the count was held.
The results were:
Will Taylor (Reform UK) 497 Votes ELECTED
Sarah Bradley (Independent) 459 Votes
Colin Story (Labour) 210 Votes
James Smith (Liberal Democrat) 118 Votes
The total votes case was 1,286 out of a total of 4,226 population entitled to vote - a 30.43 per cent turnout with two votes blank and not counted.
Will Taylor said: "Thank you to everyone who gave me their vote yesterday. Feeling very excited to get things moving. The hard work starts now."
Fellow Reform UK Sandbach councillor Dave Poole said: "This is fantastic news. We're elated with the result. Well done Will."
