Residents were evacuated and a police cordon was set up after a car collided with a house on Christmas Eve,
One fire engine went to the semi-detached property in Hulme Square, Middlewich at 10.47 pm on 24 December where timber frames at the front of the building were severely damaged following a car collision.
Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said neighbouring properties were evacuated, and a cordon was set up. Firefighters isolated the electricity supply but a smell of gas meant Cadent Gas was called out.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Cadent confirmed minor damage to the gas supply, which was later isolated externally.
"Most residents were allowed back into their homes, but two properties had to remain empty until structural concerns could be assessed by an engineer. At around 2.25 am, fire crews left the incident with the police.
"The affected residents were relocated until their properties could be assessed."
