Occupants of a Sandbach housing complex will never forget one of their much-loved residents – thanks to a new bench in his memory.

Residents held a collection following the death of Phil Bradley in April who lived in Lightley Court in Wheelock.

Phil Bradley who sadly passed away in April this year.

The popular man, a double amputee, loved gardening and grew vegetables at the complex, some of which he sold to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Friend and resident, Terry Hughes, decided to organise a collection in his memory to have a bench in the garden named after him.

"He was such a lovely person and would do anything to help anyone," said Terry.

"He used to look after the garden here and loved growing vegetables. We miss him."

Fellow resident, Terry Edwards said: "He was a real character and a likeable chap.

"The bench means we will never forget him and we will always have a memory of Phil."

Sandbach Nub News wishes residents at Lightley Court many happy hours sitting on the smart new bench.
