Road closed after accident between a motorbike and car near Sandbach

Police closed the main road through Holmes Chapel near Sandbach last night (Tuesday) due to an accident.

They were called to a collision between a car and a motorbike at the junction of Middlewich Road and London Road at 7.58 pm.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "The rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital with injuries which are thought to be serious.

"Both vehicles were recovered from the scene. The road reopened at around 10.40pm."
