The Rotary Club of Sandbach Crosses learnt about Nub News, the fastest growing on-line local newspaper in the UK at their meeting last night.

Around 17 or so members met at The Market Tavern meeting room n Sandbach for a meal and to hear guest speaker, Deborah Bowyer, Regional Editor, Sandbach Nub News talk about her career and her new role.

Deborah took over the helm towards the end of June. A print journalist by training, she talked about her career which saw her working on evening papers in Cambridge, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire plus magazines.

She explained the hyperlocal nature of Nub News and how it is designed to be literally "local news in your pocket" across social media centred around the local community.

Nub News was created two years ago by two entrepreneurs Karl Hancock and Dean Waghorn and now has around 72 sites in towns all over the country.
