Ghoulish goings on were the order of the day when a popular sporting event came to Sandbach.

Salt Wars was held in the summer when youngsters enjoyed training sessions to find the winner of the Salt Wars Cup playing football, rounders and rugby.

And the event was such a success that it is being repeated this week during half-term – this time being called Salt Wars 'Ghoulfest'.

Youngsters aged 10 to 16 were invited to take part in the free event at Sandbach High School yesterday (Monday, 25th October).

On Friday they are being invited to attend a similar event at the Alexander Soccer Centre in Shavington near Crewe from 10am until 4pm.

This weekend, on Saturday (October 30th) from 1pm until 5pm, there will be a fancy dress event at Alexander Soccer Centre before attending the Crewe Alex game against Milton Keynes Dons.
