Three local art groups are bringing a splash of colour to a large barn at the historic Rode Hall near Sandbach.

Talented artists are displaying their work throughout the Georgian hall's popular Snowdrop Walks season.

The work belongs to Alsager Arts Association, Sandbach Art Club and Ann Roach's creative group in Wistaston near Crewe.

Carol Heys, who has been a member of Sandbach Art Club for around 20 years, has several pieces of work on display.

They include a watercolour of snowdrops - perfect for the exhibition which runs at the same time as the hall's famous Snowdrop Walks.

Sandbach artist, Kay Bayliss, who went to Hornsea College of Art, has numerous pieces of her work on display, including several seaside scenes and industrial and city scenes.

The exhibition is free and includes a variety of framed paintings, mounted prints, machine embroidery artwork and greeting cards all of which are for sale.

Chris Clowes from Alsager Art Association is displaying her intricate machine embroidery artwork.

She said: "We visit Rode Hall as a group every year and take photographs. The setting is beautiful and there is so much to use for inspiration."

The hall, the home of the Wilbraham family, inspired Chris's amazing "Walled Garden"- painted silk and machine embroidery.

Another piece of Chris's artwork is painted silk and machinery embroidery mackerel.

Both pieces of work took Chris, who lives in Barthomley, days to produce and many hours of detailed, intricate work.

The exhibition is free and is open Wednesday – Sunday 11am – 4pm in the barn by the car park until March 3rd.
