A Sandbach-based animal charity which has been running for over 40 years is gearing up for the second anniversary of its first charity shop.

The then Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Flavell, cut the ribbon at Sandbach Animal Rescue Society's new shop on April 7th, 2023.

Crowds waited to watch the ribbon being cut at the shop in St George's Walk near Waitrose.

And the forward-thinking charity, which holds regular coffee mornings and other events, is not just helping its rescue cats.

The shop has gone from strength to strength since opening, stocking unwanted school uniform donations as well as other clothing.

Last month (February) we told here how the charity had launched a raffle and was outside Sandbach Town Hall in a bid to make up for an estimated £3,000 fundraising which will be lost after they were told their monthly coffee mornings at the town hall were on hold.

Each monthly coffee morning raises around £1,000 which goes towards an estimated £2,000 monthly veterinary bill and other associated costs.
