She also knows the island where the drama is filmed Guadeloupe well. She spent several weeks filming for the hit TV crime drama while working for the drama.

The plot for this year's Christmas special sees entrepreneur Gerry Stableforth (Geoff Bell) found dead in a ravine.

Neville and co are drafted in to solve the mystery surrounding his death but does  Gerry's wife Bella (Patsy Kensit) know more than she's letting on?

Ruth, who has a soft spot for the series, said: "It's such a great drama and one the whole family can watch.

"It's very funny and shows the island which is such a beautiful unspoilt place."
