A low calorie beer named after Sandbach and launched by two local rugby giants quenched the thirsts of 120 golfers when they got into the swing of things at a prestigious golf day.
Over £54,000 was raised for charity by Cheshire-based wealth management firm, Franklyn Financial Management at their annual golf day, the Swanky Swing, at The Mere Golf Resort in Knutsford.
Guests of the Swanky Swing golf day sponsored by TorFX, Hammond McNulty Accountants, Porsche
Centre Wilmslow, Belvoir and many more, were welcomed by Greatest Hits Radio presenter, Darren Proctor. They were kept hydrated throughout the day as the TorFX drinks buggy delivered the beer ofchoice for the day, Bach 95, to golfers.
Bach 95 was launched by two professional rugby players, Will Cliff and Tom Holmes, the latter an ex-Sandbach School pupil and friend Jesse Coulson who wanted to enjoy their downtime without it impacting too much on their physical performance.
The 95 comes with a dual meaning as Will's shirt number on the rugby pitch is nine and Tom's was five. Each can of Batch 95 also contains 95 calories and is gluten-free.
As Official Partners of Sale Sharks Rugby Club, Franklyn was delighted to welcome Sharks players
Jono Ross, Will Cliff, Simon Hammersley and Josh Beaumont as their guests for the day, along withSale Sharks Commercial Director and former England International, Mark Cueto, non-executive
Director and former England International, Jason Robinson, and owner of the club, Simon Orange. Chief Executive of Stoke City Football Club, Tony Scholes, was also amongst the guests at the Swanky Swingrepresenting the club of which Franklyn are Platinum Partners of.
Andrew Chatterton, Managing Director of Franklyn Financial Management said|: "After the
incredibly tough 18 months so many charities have had due to the pandemic, we were delighted toget back to our usual fundraising efforts and make up for lost time.
" It was great to have so manyclients, business partners and friends of FFM with us for the day and have so much support from
them along with all our fabulous sponsors. We can't wait for the next event!" The £54,000 raised at the Swanky Swing golf day takes the running total raised by Franklyn FinancialManagement for the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation over the years to just over £1 million.
The Swanky Swing was a spin off event of their infamous Summer Swing charity event which is
usually held annually and sees 120 golfers take to the course during the day and over 400 guests joinin the evening for their gala dinner which due to Covid-19 the did not take place this year.
Franklyn are hoping to continue their fundraising efforts at their Winter Waltz Gala Dinner event, taking place on Friday 26th November at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.
