A Sandbach travel agent is currently closed until this weekend - for a £30,000 revamp to update the business.

Hays Travel in High Street is closed until Saturday (July 15th), while major work is carried out to the former Thomas Cook building.

An extra desk is being added and the foreign exchange section is also having a revamp to cope with the growing demand from customers.

Hays Travel say they have had their busiest 12 months in history and customers are coming back to the trend to book through a travel agent.

"People didn't get away in the pandemic so we're busier than ever with customers booking holidays again," said a Hays Travel spokesperson.

"We've had the busiest 12 months in history. People who had moved away from using a travel agent have come back.
