A Sandbach care home is marking the Queen's death by burying a time capsule on the day of her funeral containing relevant items.

Elworth Grange Care Home in Booth Lane is busy gathering items from the Queen's reign which will then be placed into a time capsule to be buried on Monday (September 19th).

And the home will also have a remembrance playlist of the Queen's favourite hymns on the morning of her funeral.

Residents are also busy making cards this week to send to the Palace and a book of condolence is also being set up.

A spokesperson said: "It was devastating news to a lot of our residents. A few raised a toast to the Queen and our new King on Friday.

"On the morning of the service we have a remembrance playlist of the Queen's favourite hymns that we will be playing.

Elworth Grange celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style earlier this year

"We will be spending the week gathering items from the queens reign that we will place into our time capsule and bury on the day of her funeral with it being such a significant time in our British history.'

Elworth Grange is a residential and dementia care home, operated by Ideal Carehomes.

All 66 bedrooms are en-suite, enabling staff to deliver person-centred care in a dignified manner, promoting independence as far as possible.

The home, voted 10 out of 10 on care home review website, carehome.co.uk last year, celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee earlier this year with various activities.
