A Sandbach-based artisan coffee business is brewing up success on and off the field - after announcing it has sponsored a young football team.

Sandbach Nub News told last year how Blackwater & Grubb, who moved into their 'The House' premises in Congleton Road.

Now the fast-growing business has moved into sports sponsorship and announced it has sponsored the Winsford Over 3, Under 8s football team.

The popular coffee shop, which has run a mobile coffee van in Sandbach Park for nearly two years, took the van, named 'Frankie' to present the new kits.

Alex Demain, head of operations at Blackwater & Grubb said: "We set out to be a brand that is closely involved with its community.

"When Kitdeck approached us to see if we would be interested in becoming a kit sponsor for a local youth team, we were immediately taken and wanted to offer our support".

Not long after their midweek training session had finished, the Winsford Over 3 players were introduced to 'Frankie', and Alex and Peter Evans, co-owners,

The children got the chance to meet their new sponsors and try on their brand-new kits and as a little surprise, Alex served complimentary chocolate drinks to the children.

Jaime Evans, Founder of Kitdeck :"We just wanted to bring some joy to the players, and the Blackwater & Grubb team showed the community spirit that many have come to admire in Sandbach.

"Without the support and generosity of businesses like Blackwater & Grubb, many grassroots teams struggle to afford the essential equipment needed to play.

"This has been a great success story, but it's just one example. We are constantly on the lookout for the next sponsor superstars with plenty of teams already registered throughout the UK needing similar support."
