The finishing touches have been added ready for tomorrow's annual Tree of Light ceremony in Sandbach.

Around 1,200 stars remembering loved ones have been attached to the Christmas tree in Sandbach Cemetery on Thursday, December 1st.

This year, the event has been co-ordinator by Sandbach town councillor Ann Nevitt.

Cllr Nevitt said: "The gates will be open at 5.00 p.m. and the Can't Sing Choir will be singing carols from 5.30 - 6.00 p.m."

"The official opening will be at 6.00 p.m. by Councillor Joy Bratherton, the Chair of Orbitas. Sandbach Mayor, Cllr Kathryn Flavell, will be switching the lights on.

"We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to this event."

Cllr Nevitt has thanked AKD Electrical of Crewe for their support and help in stringing the lights and stars on the tree of light in the cemetery.

Boxes with stars to remember loved ones were placed throughout the town recently and the stars have been placed on the Christmas tree.

Last year, crowds turned out to the Tree of Light ceremony which we covered here https://sandbach.nub.news/news/local-news/sandbach-cemetery-shines-brightly-for-the-annual-tree-of-light-ceremony in Sandbach Nub News.
