Another Sandbach shop has announced it's leaving the high street to concentrate on online sales.

Interiors and gift shop, Erika Pear, named after its owner, has announced it's closing its Hightown premises and reverting to its online shop.

The Erika Pear Gift Boutique opened in the summer of 2019 but says its online sales have taken off.

"The last few years have been acutely challenging to the retail sector and the shop has managed to navigate those difficulties and adapt to an ever-changing market," said Erika Pear.

"More recently, we have adjusted the shop to 'Erika Pear Gift Boutique' and widened our product portfolio and offering, whilst engaging with ecommerce and online sales.

"The online presence for the shop is doing far better than we could have hoped for, so much so that it has made us question the necessity of bricks and mortar.

"Together with the natural demands of a young family and a desire to see more of it, I have made the decision to close our retail space in Sandbach.

"Erika Pear Gift Boutique will become online based, and we will continue to develop the progress that we have made via ecommerce.

"We are widening our product portfolio further and have secured a distribution partnership to allow us to engage with Amazon and eBay on a professional level.

"I personally would like to thank each and every one of my customers. It has been a truly fabulous time in Sandbach and I will certainly cherish the memories.

No date has been given for the closure except to say "in the coming weeks" and a sale at the shop is underway.

The business will remain open via its website

The news comes after national clothing retailer, M & Co, closed its Sandbach store last month (April) as revealed here
