A keen Sandbach photographer is celebrating after one of his photographs was chosen to appear in Stapeley Grange's 2025 calendar.

And the camera man also has his winning entry on display in an exhibition at the RSPCA's Photography exhibition at Nantwich Museum on now until March 16th.

Avid lensman, Kevin Dowey, a quality engineer at Bentley, snapped a photograph of his friend's dog, Bobby, in a field while he was playing.

Bobby plays with Kevin's own dog, Luigi, a Romanian rescue dog, and Kevin couldn't resist taking this shot of Bobby with a ball in his mouth.

Kevin snapped the winning photo of Bobby last year and entered it for RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife and Pet Photography competition.

"I took it last summer and someone suggested I entered some photos for this competition. I'm absolutely delighted mine was chosen as one of the winners," he said.

"I've always enjoyed photography. It's something I've done from a young age."

The 55-year-old from Sandbach Heath is a regular photographer with Sandbach Animal Rescue, taking photographs of their rescue cats.

The competition celebrates the 200 years since the RSPCA was first founded and 30 years since Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre and Cattery near Nantwich opened its doors,

Hundreds of entries were submitted for the competition. Hannah Norris, Education Officer at Stapeley Grange, said: "It's been wonderful to celebrate our work through photography and we were overwhelmed by the number of entries we received.

"The exhibition really caught the imagination of our supporters, the local community and photographers from further afield.

"The standard was extremely high and the love and enjoyment people get from animals and the natural world really shone through."

Congratulations to Kevin, who set up the Facebook site, Sandbach Photography Walks here  with his entry and we hope Nub News readers enjoy seeing it.
