Sandbach Nub News asked readers to send in photographs of The Tour of Britain as it passed near to the town.

We're delighted to say some of you took up our offer and send us in some gorgeous pictures of this historic event.

It's the first time the race has come through Cheshire East since 2016 when the borough hosted the whole stage from start to finish.

Riders started the leg of the tour at the life science facility, Alderley Park near Macclesfield on Thursday as Cheshire East hosted Stage Five of The Tour of Britain.

Crowds turned out to cheer the cyclists as they came through Holmes Chapel, Brereton Green and Arclid near Sandbach.

Reader Chris Parr from Sandbach Photography Walks snapped the cyclists as they were coming down the A50, Newcastle Road, at Arclid and between the A534, Congleton Road and the Legs of Man pub.

Another reader, Caroline Banks, caught video footage as well as photographs of them at the top of the hill by the Brownlow Inn, Brownlow Heath Lane.

Meanwhile Andrew Timms snapped the cyclists at the top of the first "King of the Mountain Climb" just outside Congleton near the Coach and Horses pub.

The 2021 Tour of Britain is an eight-stage men's professional road cycling stage race which started on September 5th in Penzance, Cornwall, and finishes tomorrow (12th September) in Aberdeen, Scotland.
