The sun shone and runners turned out in force for this year's annual Sandbach 10K road race.

Runners from all over the area took part in yesterday's (Sunday) event, organised by local running club, Sandbach Striders, and begins and finishes at Sandbach Rugby Club.

Club chair and road race director, Matt Jackson, thanked the club's band of marshals who make the event possible and volunteers and runners.

"A huge well done to each of the 326 runners who crossed the finish line. Getting there and doing the training is always an achievement in itself.

"It was very pleasing to see people smashing their PBs today and plenty of smiles at the finish line. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2027!

"I'd like to take a moment to thank all of the Sandbach Striders for their help and support in organising and marshalling the event today."

The event raises money for charity every year and this year the chosen charity was East Cheshire Deaf Children's Society.

Matt added: "Finally, I'd like to thank our sponsors TRAIN Fitness Studio and Sandbach Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, and our hosts Sandbach Rugby Club."
