Sandbach Town Council elects a new mayor and deputy mayor for 2025/26

A new mayor and deputy mayor have been elected for Sandbach.

Outgoing mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt, handed over the mayoral chain to Councillor John Arnold at a mayor making ceremony at Sandbach Town Hall last night (Wednesday).

Former leader of Cheshire East Council and Sandbach Heath and East councillor, Sam Corcoran, was elected as deputy mayor for the year 2025/26.

The ceremony was attended by mayors from other towns including Knutsford and Congleton as well as Congleton MP, Sarah Russell, whose constituency includes Sandbach.

Cllr Arnold expressed his gratitude and thanks to outgoing mayor, Cllr Ann Nevitt (pictured below).

"I've like to say a big thank you to Cllr Nevitt and express my gratitude for all her hard work."
