Sandbach Town Council has announced it has new Locum Town Clerk following the departure of the Town Clerk.

Ceri Lloyd has joined the Council as a Locum Town Clerk until a permanent appointment can be made.

A statement issued by Sandbach Town Council said: "Town Clerk, Ann Banks, has left the council after joining as the Assistant Town Clerk in 2006.

"The Council wishes Ann all the very best for the future." 

Sandbach Town Council say Ceri is a CIPFA qualified accountant and has extensive local government and senior management experience.

In a statement Ceri said: "I am enjoying working with officers and members of Sandbach Town Council and will do my upmost to assist the Council to play a key role within the community.

"I would like to thank the Council for welcoming me and for being such a great and committed team to work with."
