A Sandbach teaching assistant has got together with a group of others to launch a community website for the town.

Local High Street Sandbach went live today (Wednesday) following on from the success of Local High Street Macclesfield launched, last year.

Chris Street, who lives and works in Sandbach, has used his business skills and knowledge to help launch the interactive community platform Local High Street.

Chris, Local High Street Sandbach's customer engagement partner, said: "Our aim is to support the high street and ensure businesses and shops prosper.

"We got together during Lockdown and thought about how we could help regenerate the high street.

"Our aim is to help small independent businesses and provide something for the local community."

Local High Street, which can be downloaded from the App Store or from Google Play, has already sponsored the Under 9 Girls' team at Sandbach United Football Club, where a launch event was held last night.

Local High Street's commercial director, Keith Townley, said: "The feedback we've had from the Macclesfield one has been brilliant.

"We're going to have a big push in the school holidays. I believe the high street is set to go through the biggest challenge ever and we're doing all we can to help local traders. "
