Meet Sandbach United's latest 'signing' – sixteen year old Dan Needham, who is taking the club by storm.

But it's not Dan's efforts on the pitch which are causing a stir at the Hind Heath Road stadium – although you can see him in the 'dug out' on the press bench with fellow media man, Jay Rowland.

It's the teenager's efforts reaching out to the club's younger audience on Social Media which are causing a stir.

Sandbach United's new Tik Tok account is quickly gathering more followers

Dan, who lives in Wistaston and has just finished his GCSE's at Sir Thomas More Catholic School in Crewe, came up with the idea of launching a Tik Tok account for the club.

Now the avid football fan, who has his heart set on becoming a sports journalist, is doing regular posts before matches to Tik Tok.

He said: "It's a way of appealing to our younger audience. I do all sorts of posts and it seems to be working.

"I am getting a lot of views. I did a piece before the last match on Tuesday night asking people to vote if Sandbach would remain on top after their 6-1 win in the opening match."

And it would see Dan's efforts are right on target with the club.

Oliver Byron, the club's Head of Football, said: "As a club we were already using most Social Media platforms and have a great following but we are always on the lookout for new channels to grow our interaction with our members and of course our fans.

"Dan came to us with the proposal to start our Tik Tok account and having already seen the great work he has done for the club, we immediately took up his offer.

"Tik Tok is a great platform for reaching out to some of our younger members and it has already proved a great success.

"Dan has done a brilliant job and is quickly becoming a key member of our media team."
