Sandbach United sadly knocked out of Cheshire Cup by Macclesfield's Silkmen

Well done to Sandbach United Football Club's first team last night who fought hard but lost their Cheshire Cup match against Macclesfield's mighty Silkmen on a penalty shoot-out.

The full-time score was a draw, 2 – 2, but Macclesfield won 5 – 4 in the penalty shoot-out at the match in front of a crowd of 401.

Never mind Sandbach, aka The Ramblers – you still scooped three awards in the Cheshire FA Grassroots Football awards as we reported here
