Sporting superstars from Sandbach will be amongst others vying to be the winner of the Salt Wars Cup tomorrow (Saturday).

Throughout August, youngsters have enjoyed training sessions at Sandbach, Middlewich and Holmes Chapel with local PCSOs and Crewe Alexandra staff in the Salt Wars Cup.

Tomorrow (August 28) local PCSOs, Premier League Kicks and Crewe Alexandra Football Club will be working together to find the winner of the Salt Wars Cup playing football, rounders and rugby.

This new initiative has been organised to help youngsters stay active and healthy and have fun during the school holidays and to strengthen relationships and build up trust between young people and the police, in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour and future offending.

The event takes place at Crewe Alexandra Soccer Centre in Shavington and the young people, aged from 12 years old, will get the opportunity to play at the soccer centre as well as collect their certificates for taking part.

The winners will be invited to take penalties at Crewe Alexandra's home match with Burton Albion on Saturday 27 September during the half-time interval.
