UP CLOSE: A renowned Sandbach cake maker has moved premises and opened her doors on a new slice of business.
Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company opened for business at the weekend at its exciting new location – Crewe Road.
And business owner Debbie Fenton couldn't be happier – for it's allowed her to open a drinks and patisserie side to the fast-growing business.
The top cake maker launched the business – named after her daughter, Lois – in the town's Green Street in 2016.
But her spectacular cakes, which have been made for the likes of Olympic gold medal winners, Hollyoaks stars and even film makers, proved so popular that she needed bigger premises.
"We'd just outgrown Green Street," said Debbie who has taken on staff to run the French patisserie side of the business which will eventually serve afternoon tea.
"I'm so excited about the move. I've always wanted to serve good quality coffee and tea which goes hand in hand with the handmade Belgian chocolates we sell," she said.
Debbie will be serving artisan coffees and high-end tea in the pretty French-style patisserie and she will have an official opening in the New Year.
"I really feel like we've achieved something converting the premises
into our new base," said Debbie who employs two cake designers, sometimes three, to make the amazing 10 – 15 celebration cakes a week plus one wedding cake. "We've tried to create something different for Sandbach. More of a French-style tea room where people can come for a catch up and a piece of cake." Sandbach Nub News revealed in August how the business click here. had whipped up a special cake for the North West's "golden" couple - Olympian gold medalists Jason and Laura Kenny on their return home from Tokyo. Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company whisked up a stunning cake with the couple's figures and a velodrome to mark their homecoming from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. But Lois's Little Cake & Chocolate Company is no stranger to making cakes to be put in the spotlight. As well as all the stunning celebration and wedding cakes which fly out the door every week their work has been seen on stage and screen. One of Debbie's cakes appeared in the film "Saving Grace" and she has plans afoot for a star-studded official launch to celebrate moving to bigger premises.
