Sandbach's Oxfam shop celebrates a landmark birthday next week and staff are busy finishing the final preparations for the big day.
The Bold Street shop is 50 on Tuesday (April 12th) - after opening its doors on April 12th, 1972 and has been a firm feature in the town centre since then.
Charity lovers have made the shop a regular one for either dropping off donations or scouring the shelves and rails looking for bargains.
On Tuesday (April 12th) the shop will be full of fun and laughter as they celebrate the very first day it opened.
And staff are asking Sandbach Nub News readers to send in any photographs they have of the shop over the years – particularly from when it first opened in 1972.
Sandbach Mayor's consort, Christina Price Jones, will be popping along to the birthday celebrations along with the area's own Charity Shop Girl who runs her own Instagram account showing her bargains.
Volunteer, Carolyn Barker, who lives in Abbey Road, is a regular face at the shop, working there for several years and is making special cakes to sell and celebrate the day.
"I always wanted to work in a shop and I love it there. We're a good team and very friendly," said Carolyn.
"People are making tray bakes and we've all pitched in with all kinds of things but it would be lovely to have photographs from yesteryear with how the show looked then."
Carolyn is making 50th cupcakes and a big cake as well as helping out on the day when there will be a tombola, raffle, cake stall and a children's Easter competition.
The fun starts at 9.30 am and goes on until 4pm and anyone is welcome to attend and pop in to enjoy the celebrations.
