Sandbach's link with the famous Last Night of the Proms is revealed

Classical music fans watching Last Night of the Proms at the weekend might not realise it has a Sandbach link.
Katie Derham, one of the BBC's leading presenters in classical music broadcasting and the face of BBC Proms, grew up in the town.
The popular presenter went to the then Offley Junior School in Offley Road and lived in Bradwall Road.
Since her days in Sandbach, Katie, who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, has forged an impressive career in broadcasting.
She spent 15 years of her broadcasting career in current affairs and news and has worked for the BBC and ITV.
