A special gin named after Sandbach made by a local business in the town has been given a new look.

Wheelock based Winding River Distillery has given the 1816 Sandbach gin a rebrand and the town's famous Crosses feature on design.

The two Crosses, which stand on the Cobbles in the Market Square, are thought to date back to the early 9th century.

Winding River Distillery is run by husband and wife team, Matthew and Suzanne Fox, decided the label needed a new look.

Matthew said: "We felt the old label was a tad outdated and not in keeping with our core range.

"It also didn't contain the recipe, something we wanted to address," said Matthew.

He added: "I stood by the Crosses pondering how best to make the design work and felt a silhouette would be best.

"With a bit of artistic licence in the symmetry, we feel it works and is rather striking."

The couple set up the business after a holiday to Italy tempted their taste buds, first starting with liqueurs.

The range now includes several gins, including an Alsager gin, one for   Sandbach United's Cross Bar, the Beer Emporium, the Military Arms and the Hayhurst Arms in Bostock Green
