Charity shops are the first port of call for thrifty shoppers looking for a bargain makeover.

And now a Sandbach charity shop is set to have its own makeover. Oxfam in Bold Street is closing briefly while it is renovated.

The popular charity shop closes to customers on Saturday (February 4th) and is set to reopen by the middle of next month.

And anyone with pre-loved items to donate is asked to take them to Oxfam in Congleton or Oxfam bookshop in Nantwich.

A message on the shop's Facebook page reads: "We still have clothes Ladies and Gents clothes at 50% off.

"Lots of children's toys, homewares still available. Book department closed.

"We hope to reopen in mid-March, watch this page for announcement!"

Oxfam in Sandbach celebrated its 50th birthday in the town in April last year. The shop first opened in 1972.

Jane Beeston, manager of the Oxfam Shop in Sandbach, said: "To provide the best experience for all our valued customers, we're installing new lighting, flooring and a lick of paint.

"Saturday February 4th will be the last opportunity for customers to purchase clothes, books, homewares and other gifts before we close.

"The money we raise supports Oxfam's work to fight poverty and injustice around the world. We're expecting to re-open the shop by the middle of March."

The Sandbach Oxfam shop has already stopped accepting donations of pre-loved items.
