Sandbach's rich links with transport will be celebrated this weekend at two-day event

Sandbach's historic transport festival rolls into town this weekend.
The legendary two-day Sandbach Transport Festival celebrates the market town's famous links with the transport world which started with Foden trucks in Elworth and then included ERF.
Sandbach is now more famous for its links to the M6 cutting through the country, going north and south but its famous Foden and ERF trucks will be at Sandbach Transport Festival, honouring the important heritage.
And the town will be alive with various entertainment on Saturday (25 April) and Sunday (26 April) during the two-day event.

Mayor, Councillor John Arnold will officially open the festival on Saturday morning with On the Edge motorcycle stunts taking place later on Scotch Common at 11.30 am, 1 pm and 2.15 pm. There will also be a Fusion Extreme BMX show at 12.15 pm, 1.45 pm and 3 pm.
Various historic vehicles will be on show during the two-day event but it's not just about transport - the festival also features music with a main music stand on The Cobbles featuring a range of acts from tributes to Shirley Bassey, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner and George Michael.
A Spitfire aircraft will be on display on Scotch Common and there will be a chance to listen to the world-famous Foden's Band on the main stage on Sunday.
On Sunday (26 April) various classic and vintage cars will be on display on Scotch Common while the High Street will be lined with crowds for the famous exist parade at 4 pm.
