Scouts set to shine on stage thanks to a little help from Repair Cafe Sandbach
By Deborah Bowyer 21st Apr 2026
Scouts taking part in this year's gang show are set to shine on stage - thanks to an innovative project run by Sandbach Partnership.
Sandbach Partnership runs the Repair Cafe Sandbach at St Peter's Church Hall in Elworth and this month, members of the sewing team worked on costumes to be worn by South West Cheshire Scouts taking part in the show.
Members of the cafe's sewing team used their creative skills to make several costumes for the show which takes place at Crewe Lyceum from 6 - 9 May.
Helen Dorney, chair of Sandbach Partnership was one of the volunteers working on the costumes.
"We had lots of fun sewing the costumes and using our needlework skills. It's going to be a brilliant show and we're delighted to help."
Sandbach Partnership launched Repair Cafe Sandbach (RCS) in September 2023 with the aim of reducing items going to landfill and promoting the sharing of skills across generation.
They are held at St Peter's Church Hall in Elworth and the next one takes place on Saturday, 16 May from 11 am until 2 pm as detailed here Tickets for the gang show are available here.
