Sandbach's snowboarding champion, Mia Brookes, has been shortlisted in the Everybody 2023 awards.

The Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College student beat New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski-Synnott to women's slopestyle gold at the Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Georgia earlier this year.

Not only that, Mia, also became Britain's youngest snowboarding world champion as revealed by Sandbach Nub News here

Now she has been nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year in the Everybody's awards, run by Everybody Health and Leisure, which recognise a range of inspirational stories from individuals who have demonstrated amazing achievements in health, sport and physical activity across Cheshire East.

And Sandbach's Ben Guildford, who set up B2 Coaching, has been nominated for Community Sports Coach. Here's a link to his Facebook page here

The Awards will take place at the prestigious Crewe Hall in Cheshire on Friday 13th October, hosted by the fantastic Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Andrew Kolker, Chairman at Everybody Health and Leisure said: "The nominations we have received this year have showed excellent dedication, innovation and true community spirit.
