A Royal approved band from Sandbach and leading swing singer will perform the music of Frank Sinatra just outside of Macclesfield.

Legendary singer, Matt Ford, and Sandbach's multi-award winning Foden's Band will be delighting audiences at Gawsworth Hall this summer when they perform their 'Salute to Sinatra and the Swing legends'.

They will perform at the Church Lane country house on July 17.

The talented line-up will take to the stage at 5pm, for what promises to be an amazing concert packed with hits from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett.

Foden's band chairman and principal trombone player, John Barber, says the band is looking forward to playing at the Grade I listed building.

"It will be a great evening packed with superb music," he said.

"Right now, we're recording some of the material from tonight for a special CD titled King of Swing.

"It will have released just after our Gawsworth concert, and will be available to purchase.

"The power of the band is amazing. The musicians are all handpicked and extremely talented and Matt Ford is such an excellent performer."

Voted 'Best UK Male Big Band Vocalist' and nominated alongside Jamie Cullum in the inaugural Ronnie Scott's Jazz Awards, Matt makes regular appearances with the John Wilson Orchestra, BBC Big Band and performed for five years with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra.

The nation's best big-band singer is from Warwickshire, and will front Foden's band with his powerful vocals.

Not only that, Matt has made four BBC Proms appearances with the John Wilson Orchestra – 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2018.

Foden's Band is equally famous. Crowned Champion Band of Great Britain on no less than 13 occasions, they were recently crowned the North West area champions for the 24th time.

They have regularly performed in Macclesfield, but the grounds of Gawsworth Hall will make this concert particularly special.

And the love letter to all things Sinatra will be a one-off. So make sure you don't miss out!

The setlist will include a local take on Sinatra hits such as as I've Got You Under My Skin, Fly me to the Moon, New York New York and My Way.

Tickets cost £15 and are available by calling 07740 354106 or emailing [email protected].

Please book ahead of the event to avoid disappointment.

Gawsworth Hall is located on Church Lane, Gawsworth, SK11 9RN. It is located near Macclesfield, which also has a Nub News website.
