Scottish Power today (Friday) apologised to around 1,800 Sandbach homeowners who were plunged into darkness earlier this week.

They have not revealed what caused the power cut on Tuesday night but have offered their apologies.

A Scottish Power spokesperson said: "Around 1800 customers were affected by this brief power cut.

"Most were affected for only a couple of minutes and all supplies were restored in less than an hour.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
