Big-hearted marathon running solicitor, Darren Neighbour, could be described as a bit of a glutton for punishment.

For last weekend he completed the London Marathon in 3:25 in memory of his late father who died from Sarcoma.

And this weekend, the father-of-two will once again be pounding the streets and doing another 26.2 miles - to ensure he reaches his fundraising target.

The plucky commercial property lawyer who lives in Sandbach and works for Poole Alcock in Nantwich set a goal of raising £5,000 for Sarcoma.

Darren, who lives in Henshall Drive and has been training for months to run marathons, is looking forward to doing his own marathon run tomorrow. (Saturday)

He trains six times a week, getting up early in the morning to pound the local paths and going out again during his lunchtime when he is able to running around 45 minutes at a time.

He said: "Running the London Marathon was an awesome experience. Crowds were great and it was very emotional hearing stories of why people were running.

"I was very pleased with my time and I am looking forward to running again tomorrow."

Darren ran as part of the Sarcoma UK team in the London Marathon and has raised just over £4,500 from last Sunday.

He said: "I had never heard of Sarcoma until my dad was diagnosed in 2018. If more people knew what Sarcoma was they would get that lump checked out earlier.

"The earlier Sarcoma is diagnosed the greater the chance of successful treatment.

"I want to help get the word out that Sarcoma is cancer and 15 people in the UK are diagnosed with it every day."

Darren says on his fundraising page: "Please support me to help us find better treatments, ensure people get the care they need and fund expert information and support for anyone who needs it."
