Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

Thursday, December 5th

It's the annual Tree of Light event at Sandbach Cemetery at 6 pm when loved ones are remembered.

Friday, December 6th

It Sandbach Christmas Market from 3 pm until 8 pm. There will be over 100 festive stalls with Christmas gift ideas, festive treats and speciality food, choirs signing Christmas carols and brass bands playing.

The Christmas market takes place on The Cobbles in the High Street, Little Common, indoor market and the Olive and Stitch market inside Sandbach Town Hall. Don't miss it!

Fancy a drink after checking out the Christmas Market? The Swan & Chequers in Hightown has its happy hour from 5 pm - 7 pm and there's 30 per cent off 'Dirty Fries'. A chance to get out of the cold and warm up with some tasty food.

Earlier in the day there's a history talk at Sandbach library by Mike tingle. It starts at 11 am and it's free.

Saturday, December 8th

Join Santa for breakfast at the Swan & Chequers. The cost is £15 per child which includes breakfast, drink, table activity, visit and a gift from Santa. Every weekend throughout December. Pre-booking required. Call 01270 762109, email [email protected] or pop in to book your place.

Fancy some Christmas shopping? It' Rode Hall Christmas Farmer's Market at Scholar Green near Sandbach from 9 am until 1.30 pm.

Grace Church are running a free Christmas Family Trail through Sandbach. Find the presents in shop windows, unscramble the word and then head to the Town Hall for crafts and refreshments. All children will leave with a Christmas book and chocolate treat.

There'll be lots of mistletoe, mulled wine and mince pies plus live music from Rode Hall Silver Band, Smallwood School and Just Sing Choir from Alsager.

The barns and outdoor courtyards will be full of artisan food, crafts and gifts to gear us up for the festive season.

The courtyard kitchen will be also be serving breakfasts and homemade cakes plus pork baps in the barns.

Sandbach United's first team are away to Alsager Town aka The Bullets with a 3 pm kick-off.

Fancy a drink or two? Take advantage of the Swan & Chequers' Saturday offers - four shots for £10, cask ale £3.50, cocktail of the week £7 or two for £11. Don't miss out!

Singing Sensations has a fundraising concert at St Peter's Church Hall in Elworth at 7 pm in aid of Downs Syndrome Cheshire. Tickets are £5 (adults), children free. Contact St Peter's church.

Sunday, December 8th

Every year we have the pleasure of bringing some much needed festive cheer to our hometown of Sandbach!

Foden's world famous band has its annual Christmas concert at Sandbach School - we hope you can join us at 2 pm. Tickets are £12 available on the door.
