Two organisations with links to Sandbach have romped to victory in the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Business awards 2024.

The Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group, which has a group in Sandbach, won the 'Contribution to the Community' award while Daniel Mathias Architecture, based on The Hill in Sandbach, won 'Excellence in Collaboration'.

Founder Liz Bedson set up the first Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group in Crewe in 2018 after her own late father had a stroke.

A second group was the set up in Alsager as our sister site, Alsager Nub News, told here, a third group in Sandbach followed and earlier this year a fourth was launched in Nantwich.

And earlier this year the group, which achieved charity status earlier this year, is poised to open its next group in Holmes Chapel as well as looking at a national on-line model.

The group was presented with its award at a glittering ceremony at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa last night (Friday).

Liz told Nub News: "We're absolutely delighted but this award is for everyone connected with the groups and working so hard for the Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group.

"Our thanks goes to everyone involved and we look forward to the future knowing we have won this wonderful award."

Also in the spotlight was Daniel Matthias Architecture Ltd (DMA) an architectural practice, formed in 2011, moving from Betchton to Millgate, on The Hill, Sandbach.

Nub News reported here how Daniel Matthias Architecture Ltd (DMA) was celebrating after receiving three prestigious awards in recognition of its outstanding work and welcoming their 1,000th customer.

Congratulations to both award winners!
