The funeral of a Sandbach man who championed disability rights and was heavily involved with the Sandbach Partnership takes place today (Wednesday).

And the cortege of Craig Bayley who joined Sandbach Management Team in 2015 and was co-opted on to the partnership, will stop briefly outside Costa in the town - one of his favourite places.

Craig's cortège leaves Sandbach Heath at 11.30 and will go up the High Street and stop for a few moments shortly after that and pause at Costa before moving off to Vale Royal Crematorium for 12 noon.

Craig was heavily involved with the Disability Resource Exchange which sadly closed in 2012 due to the lack of funding and set up Grassroots Disability.

Sandbach Nub News told here here.how Craig championed disability rights.

"Joining the Partnership provided Craig with the opportunity to implement one of his life-long ambitions of setting up a Disability Group for people in and around Sandbach, resulting in the formation of Grassroots Disability," said a spokesman.

"The Partnership and many other organisations in and around Sandbach came to rely on Craig as their local advisor on projects that were being undertaken."
