Sandbach is getting ready for its biggest annual event of the year – the two-day Sandbach Transport Festival next weekend.

We reported here how festival organisers had secured further funding for the event for future years from Sandbach Town Council.

Hundreds of people from all over the region visit the market town, once the home of ERF and Foden Trucks, for the popular event.

It takes place next Saturday and Sunday (April 20th and April 21st) and will feature a motorcycle stunt team, a display of replica famous cars and a Spitfire plane which is back again.

The motorcycle stunt team. "On The Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show" will perform on Scotch Common on Saturday and there will be a vehicle display of Foden and ERF trucks from 11 am until 4 pm. celebrating the town's transport heritage.

And on Sunday (April 21st), there will be the main display of vehicles and motorcycles, followed by the final parade which travels through the town from 1.30 pm.

On both days there will be activities in Sandbach Park, especially for children and alongside the transport festival and on Saturrday there will be live music on the Cobbles from 1.30 pm starting with Henry Myles and finishing with a Freddie Mercury tribute at 8.30 pm.

On Sunday, music is back on the Cobbles with Frantic Fridays from midday, music stopping at 1.30 pm for the parade and then from 2.30 The Disappearing. Foden's Band will also be playing outside the Military Arms on Sunday as well as in the vehicle parade.

A spokesperson for Sandbach Transport Festival said: "On the 20th and 21st April, you'll see over 150 vehicles, plus food, live music and an incredible stunt show from 'On The Edge Stunt Show'

"Mark the dates in your calendar, get the family together and join us for this fantastic festival. It's perfect for the whole family."

Sandbach Nub News wishes organisers success with last-minute preparations and looks forward to covering this year's festival and sharing the event with readers.
