Two people taken to hospital following serious collision in Sandbach
Two people have been taken to hospital with "minor injuries" following a three-vehicle collision - involving a HGV in Sandbach.
The incident on Old Mill Road, happened at 11:14am on Sunday 11 June.
Two fire engines from Crewe, one from Sandbach, the major rescue unit from Winsford and the rope rescue unit from Lymm quickly arrived at the scene.
Cheshire Police officers also arrived at the scene - putting road closures in place at the road's junctions with Congleton Road and The Hill.
The collision involved a HGV and two cars.
Two people sustained "minor" injuries and were immediately taken to Leighton Hospital for treatment.
The roads were closed for around three hours - reopening shortly before 2:30pm.
On Monday 12 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "Police were called at 11.50am on Sunday 11 June with reports of a three-vehicle collision on Old Mill Road in Sandbach.
"The collision involved a HGV and two cars. Two people sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
"Road closures were placed at the junction with Congleton Road and The Hill to deal with the incident, with all roads re-opened shortly before 2.30pm.
All vehicles were made safe with firefighters in attendance for one hour.
Crews had to stabilise one of the vehicles involving - assisting paramedics to rescue a casualty.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision in Sandbach involving three vehicles.
"Crews used specialist equipment to stabilise one of the vehicles and assisted paramedics to remove a casualty.
"All vehicles were made safe and firefighters were in attendance for around one hour."
