A Sandbach community organisation run by volunteers has been relaunched with a new management team.

And the new chair of Sandbach Partnership has vowed to make her stamp on the organisation and ensure it benefits the whole town.

Sandbach Partnership, based at the Enterprise Centre in Wesley Avenue, was thrown into chaos last March when the remaining officers all stepped down.

Engineering consultant, Helen Dorney, who has taken over as chair, said three of her management team are project managers and two have a background in events.

Helen is keen to make the organisation transparent and has many plans moving forward

The mum-of-two is adamant the organisation will be transparent and Helen says she's starting the partnership "with a clean slate".

Sandbach was one of sixteen towns in the North West involved in the Market Town Initiative Fund which was allocated to support rural recovery.

The organisation was set up "to promote for public benefit the improvement of the economic, social, environmental and cultural health of the area".

"There is funding which the partnership can apply for to benefit the town which the local councils can't apply for," said Helen.

"We have a new vision, direction and a mandate. We have relaunched the Facebook site and updated the website.

"I'm delighted to take up the post. The partnership is a valuable organisation for the town and has amazing potential.

"There is so much funding we could apply for. We've only just scratched the surface."

Helen 47, has lived in Sandbach since 2014 and works part-time for a multi-national engineering company.

She has worked in Canada and brings a wealth of experience to the role, along with her four other management team members.

A keen community person, Helen will be ensuring the office is accessible and will even have its own office dog on the days she works – Storm, her beloved Sprocker spaniel.

The two vice-chairs are Nicola Kapusniak and Anne-Marie Robinson. Nicola was previously director of Cheshire Rural Recovery programme and currently works in community funding in central government.

He has joined the Partnership to boost the livelihood of Sandbach residents and local businesses, keeping it clean and safe so that Sandbach can continue to thrive.

There is also a fifth member – the Cheshire East Council representative who sits on the management team.
